The numbers of single people in church, their gender balance and social background
A balanced sociodemographic survey of 7,212 GB 16+ (the same survey the one on men with a different focus on analysis)
YouGov/Single Christians

Key facts:  
  • 30% of GB population say that they are practising Christians; 10% of the population attend regularly at least once every month
  • Although 40% of the population are unpartnered only 32% of those regularly attending church are (Unpartnered = never married, divorced or widowed)
  • Just under one third of the church is unpartnered
  • Among the unpartnered, a greater percentage of the ABC1 unpartnered women attend places of worship and there are also more of them in society
  • There is no evidence that Christians marry younger
